The first of my new Sketch-A-Day 2008 pieces, this is the latest picture of Celeste that I've done. After finishing it today, I figured that it would be a good idea to put this up as my first SAD challenge piece.
Overall, I'm really, really pleased with this, as it not only includes the look that I want, but it also feels like I got who Celeste actually IS down with this pic. Eventually, I'll edit this with a colored version, but for right now, I'm really happy about this. Celeste Mousai (C) Bernhard C. Moffitt Comments
It is a great sketch, you capture her voluptuous beauty well. Have you considered cleaning up the sketch? There seems to be a lot of half erased lines and smudges.

I need scissors! 61!" -MGS2 The half-erased lines and smudges are due to the fact that I drew and erased continuously to get at what I wanted. As for cleaning it up, I hadn't been able to before, as I didn't have a tablet with which to ink it. There are also some other things that I'd like to do with fixing this picture, including slimming her neck down so that it isn't quite so thick.
Oh, but her neck was so charming. It seemed a little muscular compared to the rest of her (which seemed so soft).
Would you slim the neck or perhaps make it seem softer and fleshy-er. -- "I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork- does a raw blink on Hara-kiri Rock. Examples that I have seen (that I remember) would require her to be larger than the size she is now, and I was planning on quite probably reducing her size to 196 (14 stone) pounds (although she probably seems that size now, in fact).
I wouldn't slim it down too much though; just enough to make it less noticably out of place, while still indicating that she is a strong woman (despite her size). |
